Refer question no 12 in the chapter 11. It is said that if an object is moving with constant velocity, then there is no force acting on it. If an object is moving with constant velocity, then a force has to act on the object to make the object move at constant velocity.

External force is required to accelerate the body or to increase of decrease the speed of the velocity.Force is not requires to make the object move at constant velocity.As according to Newton's Ist law , if a body is in motion will remain in motion until an external force applied on it.
