Solution
Their mode of nutrition is autotrophic. The coloured leaves also contain chlorophyll and carry out photosynthesis but these leaves contain less number of chlorophyll as compared to green leaves. Therefore, the rate of photosynthesis is higher in green leaves than coloured leaves. The colour of the leaves is due to the presence of carotenoid pigments which give red, yellow and orange colour to leaves.
