SOME ITEMS LIKE JAMS APPEAR TO BE SOLID BUT WHEN SPREAD ON A SURFACE LIKE BREAD IT DOES NOT LOOK SOLID(RATHER IT LOOKS LIKE A LIQUID).WHY THIS HAPPENS?

Dear student!
It happens because the substances like Jams are kept in the air tight container at low temperature and there they look solidified but when they are kept in the contact of external environment like moisture , temperature etc, they start to melt and spreads over the surface.
