Sound vibrations in the cochlea cause the hair cells to bend.how does this generate electrical impulses ??

The cochlea contains a fluid. The hair cells when receive vibrations trigger the release of some ions which go and dffuse between the hair cell and nerve terminal. This leads to generation of electrical impulses.
