The major religion of Iran is Shia Islam which is followed by Sunni Islam, Christianity, Baha'is, Jews, Hindus and Zoroastrians.
The population of Iran is mainly of Persian origin which is different from the ethnic Arabs in the neighbouring countries. Other groups are Kurds, Balucha and Lurs. Turkic speakers include Azeri, Turkmen and Qashgai people.
