Mushrooms have a heterotrophic mode of nutrition that means they are not able make their own food themselves.So, from where and how they get food for their survival ?

Its true that mushrooms come under heterotrophic mode of nutrition.They are not able to prepare their own food. Mushrooms show saprophytic nutrition i.e. they act on dead and decaying matter by producing digestive juices and obtain nutrition from them.
