Question

Zn has greater tendency to lose electrons than Cu

So What Then Why

There is no Reaction between metallic copper and aqueous solution of zinc sulphate

Open in App
Solution

This is means that Cu is less reactive than Zn.

Only more reactive metal can displace the less reactive metal from its salt solution but there will not be any reaction between the less reactive metal and salt solution of more reactive metal.

Cu being less reactive than Zn so it does not react with solution of zinc sulphate.
