Question

Why zeroth law of thermodyamics is not called as IIIrd law thoughhhh it was discovered after I and II law?

Solution

Hi Mani!
Zeroth law of thermodynamics is a fundamental law of thermodynamics. But, it was realized later that it requires to be stated more explicitly only after stating the first, second and third law. But, as it is more fundamental, it was named as 0th law rather than changing names of other laws.
Cheers!!
