Statesimilarities and differences between the laboratory thermometer andthe clinical thermometer.
Similarities:
(i) Both clinical andlaboratory thermometers have long, narrow, uniform glass tubes.
(ii) The bulbs of boththe thermometers have mercury in them.
Differences:
(i) The temperaturerange of clinical thermometers is from 35°Cto 42°Cwhile that of laboratory thermometer is from −10°Cto 110°C.
(ii) Clinicalthermometer is used to measure the temperature of a human body.However, laboratory thermometer cannot be used to measure thetemperature of a human body.
(iii) The least count ofboth the thermometers differs.
(iv) Unlike clinicalthermometer that can be tilted, laboratory thermometer is keptupright while reading the temperature values.
