True.A semicircular canal is one of three semicircular, interconnected tubes located inside each ear.

The utricle and saccule are oriented perpendicular to one another. Each of these regions has a macula within it that contains hair cells. The macula in the utricle (the larger of the two) has its hair cells aligned horizontally, with their cilia pointing upwards; the macula in the saccule has its hair cells aligned vertically, with their cilia pointing horizontally. This orientation in two planes gives us a more three-dimensional perspective of our position
