There are two main functions of ovaries:

It produces ova (egg) every month in a female during menstrual cycle.
It produces female sex hormones, i.e. estrogen and progesterone, which play an important role in the development of secondary sexual characteristics in female and in pregnancy.

Functions of Testis :-

• The function of the testes is to produce sperms.
• Testes release hormone called testosterone, which brings about secondary sex characteristics in boys.
