Question

state newton law of motion

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

First law of motion: The Law of Inertia.
Every object continues to be in the state of rest or rectilinear motion until an external force acts upon it to change its state of rest or motion. The key point is that if there is no net force acting on an object then the object will maintain a constant velocity. If that velocity is zero, then the object remains at rest. If an external force is applied, the velocity will change because of the force.

The second law of motion: Law of Momentum
The unbalanced force associated with a body will be equal to the rate of change of momentum. For an object with a constant mass m, the second law states that the force F is the product of an object's mass and its acceleration a: F = m * a

Third law of motion: Action-reaction.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The third law can be used to explain the generation of lift by a wing and the production of thrust by a jet engine.
