Thalamus Hypothalamus Epithalamus
It is the part of the forebrain that receives impulses of pain, touch and conducts them to cerebral hemisphere It is the part of the forebrain that controls involuntary functions like thirst, hunger, sweating, sleep, fatigue, sexual desire and temperature etc. It is the dorsal segment of diencephalon. It contain both thalamus & hypothalamus due to its location in the centre of the brain. It forms a linkage between limbic system components in the forebrain and other parts of the brain.
