Solution

Immunization is a process by which an individual's immune system is strengthened to fight against infecting agents. An immune response is the way in which the body response to invasion by a specific pathogen or antigen. This response involves the production of cells (lymphocytes) & chemicals (antibodies). Design to defend the body against pathogen. Antigens are the foreign substances that can produce an immune response which trigger the production of antibodies (glycoprotein & immunoglobin) by the immune system. Each type of antibody is specific to a particular type of antigen.

There are two response of immunity:

Cell mediated immunity – there are many different type of WBC involve in immunity. They are lymphocytes (these are WBC that recognize & react with antigen. They are of two types: T – lymphocytes & B- lymphocytes) & macrophages (they directly engulf the antigens).

Antibody mediated immunity – they activate the B- lymphocytes.

Plasma B- cells which secrete antibody into the blood circulation.

Memory B – cells

Dividing B – cells they produce more of lymphocytes.
