1.WHAT IS LAB (LACTIC ACID BACTERIA)?
2.WHAT HAPPENS TO PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SLUDGE??
Lactic acid bacteria are a group of gram positive bacteria which are generally rod shaped (coccus). They produce lactic acid as a major end product in carbohydrate fermentation. They are found in lactic products and decomposing plants.
The primary and secondary sludge are usually subjected to anaerobic digestion. Methane is obtained as an important by product and the remaining matter can be safely disposed or used in landfills.
