How does westerly winds differ from easterly winds ?
Dear Student,
Westerly winds differ from the easterly winds in the sense that the former are the prevailing winds in the middle latitudes between 30 and 60 degrees latitude, blowing from the high pressure area in the horse latitudes towards the poles. These are predominantly from the southwest in the Northern Hemisphere and from the northwest in the Southern Hemisphere. The easterly winds are the tradewinds which blow predominantly from the northeast in the Northern Hemisphere and from the southeast in the Southern Hemisphere.
