is lactic acid used to break down glucose into simpler substances to release energy in anaerobic respiration?

Open in App
Solution

During anaerobic respiration glucose is used to produce energy and lactic acid. After the production of energy this lactic acid is transferred to the liver through blood where it is further used to produce glucose. Lactic acid does not break the glucose, it is produced by the glucose and than used to produce glucose in the liver.
