People in rural areas are forced to travel long distances in search of work. This kind of migration takes place when earning livelihood becomes difficult in these areas and people have to migrate, mainly due to the following reasons:
1. When earning capacities in rural areas decline.
2. For better job opportunities and wages.
3. Most rural are agriculture based and if agricultural practises are hampered due to any of the reasons mentioned below;
i. Climatic conditions such as drought, famine or floods etc.
ii. Failure of crop-production.
iii. Indebtedness.
4. Lack of education related jobs in rural areas.
5. Shortage of food and others means.
