Question

Why do I feel cold and shiver when I have a fever?

Open in App
Solution

When a person has fever, the brain sets different temperature as normal temperature in our body and this temperature is higher than the normal temperature without fever. Our body tries to accomodate to this change and tries to preserve heat. Since body temperature is less than the temperature set by the brain we feel cold and shiver to generate heat for attaining that elevated temperature.
