Would you expect the second electron gain enthalpy of O as positive, more negative or less negative than the first? Justify your answer.

It would be positive because on addition of electron an atom will becomes a negatively charged ion and therefore addition of second electron will not be a favorable process because of repulsion between the negatively charged ion and electron.
