Suggest ways to minimize the damage to the environment due to synthtic polymers.

Open in App
Solution

Synthetic polymers include plastics, fibres like nylon, fire and chemical resistant material. All of these are artificial or man-made and do not degrade in the environment and thus cause damage.
There are broadly three steps to minimize their damage to the environment. These steps are:
1. Recycle the plastic material. Use plastics that can be regenerated and have an effective way to for segregation and collection of plastic material from general public.
2. Reuse the plastic material. Encourage public not to throw away plastic things, reuse them or give it away to people who can use them.
3. Reduce the use of plastics. Use alternative material instead of plastics. Use reusable cotton/canvas bags for grocery shopping. Buy food products from bulk bins.
