"Sum of a two digit no. the no. obtained on reversing its digit is 55". If x and y represent hte digits at ones and tens place respectively then which equation represnts the given situation ?

Given, digit at the one's place and ten's place are x and y respectively.

∴ Original number = 10y + x

Reverse number = 10x + y

Original number + Reverse number = 55 (Given)

∴ (10y + x) + (10x + y) = 55

⇒ 11x + 11y = 55

⇒ x + y = 5

Thus, the linear equations representing the given statement is x + y = 5.
