Solution

Answer :

1 ) Team A has 36 members and Team B has 48 members , and we placed them into table of 6 , So

Total number of table required to placed Team A = 366 = 6 tables
And
Total number of table required to placed Team B = 486 = 8 tables
So,
Team B required total tables more than Team A = 8 - 6 = 2 tables ( Ans )

2 ) Using split strategy , find value of

a ) 87 × 9

= ( 80 + 7 ) × 9

= 80 × 9 + 7 × 9

= 720 + 63

= 783 ( Ans )

b ) 99 × 5

= ( 90 + 9 ) × 5

= 90 × 5 + 9 × 5

= 450 + 45

= 495 ( Ans )

c ) 35 × 6

= ( 30 + 5 ) × 6

= 30 × 6 + 5 × 6

= 180 + 30

= 210 ( Ans )
