The arrangement of nine elements in group VIII of the periodic table is not justified. Explain.

Solution

There arrangement is not justified because they all have nearly same physical and chemical properties. Further if they are arranged in the periodic table , the periodic trends of the properties of the elements gets disturbed.So these nine elements are placed separately in to the periodic table and known as lanthanoide.
