Question

The conductor A 31.5 into 1030 electrons flows through the conductor in 1 sec.Find the amount of charge flowing through the conductor a and hence the strength of electric current.

Open in App
Solution

charge on 1 electron, e = 1.6 x 10-19 C

number of electrons moving in the conductor, n = 31.5 x 1030

total amount of charge flowing, Q = ne = 1.6 x 10-19 x 31.5 x 1030

so,

Q = 50.4 x 1011 C

now,

current will be given as

I = Q/t

here, t = 1s

so,

I = 50.4 x 1011 / 1

thus,

I = 50.4 x 1011 A
