Solution

Let a, b and c be the lengths of sides of a triangle and S be its perimeter.
According to the given parenthesis, the difference between the sides and its semi perimeter is given by;
S-a = 8 a = S-8S-b = 7 b = S-7S-c = 5 c = S-5
Now, the perimeter of triangle is given by;
S = a+b+c2S = S-8+S-7+S-522S = 3S-203S-2S = 20S = 20
Therefore the perimeter of triangle is 20 cm.
