Mean is the average so , mean = sum of ages/ number of persons
So mean is given as 25 years, so mean ⨯ number of person = sum of ages
Hence the sum of ages = 25 ⨯ 6 =150 years.

A 45 year old member leaves, hence the sum of age will be 150 -45 =105 years.
And the number of persons is now 5, as one member leaves.
Hence the new mean is 105/5 = 21 years
