Question

the melting point of two substances A and B are 280K and 320K respectively.are the substances liquid at room temperature?

Open in App
Solution

The standard room temperature is 298 K.
So, if the melting point of the substance is below 298 K. It means it is liquid at room temperature..
And if the melting point of substance is higher than 298 K it means it requires extra energy to melt so it will remain solid at room temperature.
So the substance A will be liquid while substance B will be solid at room temperature.
