1) The mid day meal scheme was mainly introduced by the government not only to increase enrolment of children in schools but also to provide nutritious food, good education and also make rural children literates

2) It is still popular even today as we can see their functioning in government schools and anganwadis where cooks prepare meal for the children studying there.

3) This scheme was indeed a success as rural population were educated and more utilisation of human resources have been made with this scheme

4) Nutritious food by way of mid day meal scheme had definitely increased the literacy rate in our country and also increased the employment growth in rural areas as it is evident that good education increases better openings in any country

5) This scheme is still in vogue and has foregone many improvements with the change in government every year. Political leaders aim to improve the rural public as they believe that rural sector contribute a major share in economic development and growth
