This is due to evolution. Higher group of organism in plants and animals are evolved from lower ones. So they have best evolved characters that are selected by the nature. Sexual reproduction is advanced from of reproduction that is evolved through asexual mode in thousands of years. So when we move to higher organism asexual reproduction is generally not reported only sexual mode is present.
