Question

the potential difference b/w the terminals of an electric heater in 60V when when iT DRAWS CURRENT of 4A from the source . What current will the heater draw if the potential difference is increasedto 120V

Open in App
Solution

Potential difference = 60V

Current drawn = 4A

Resistance = ?

R= V/I

putting values,

R= 60/4 = 15ohms.

Now,Potential difference = 120V

Resistance= 15ohms

current= ?

V = RI

I = V/R

= 120/15 = 8A.

Potential difference is increased to 120V then the current drawn is 8A.
