Open in App
Solution

let the present age of woman = x years

let the present age of daughter = y years

according to the given condition

x = 3y + 3

x - 3y = 3 ...............(1)

after 3 years :

woman's age =( x + 3 ) years

daughter's age = ( y + 3 ) years

according to the second condition

( x + 3 ) = 2 (y + 3) + 10

⇒ x - 2y = 13 .................(2)

subtracting (1) from (2) , we get

y = 10

put y = 10 in eq. (1) , we get

x = 33

so mother's present age = 33 years

daughter's present age = 10 years
