Question

the radius and height of a cone are in the ratio 3:4 . if its volume is 301.44 cu.cm, find its radius and slant height. (take pie ha 3.14)

Open in App
Solution

radius =r
height =h
given
r/h = 3/4
r = 3h/4

Given
volume =301.44
1/3 πr2h=301.44
πr2h=301.44*3=904.32
π(3h/4)2h=904.32

(3h/4)2h=904.32*7/22=287.74
9h^3/16 = 287.74
h^3 = 511.54
h= 8 (approximately).

So, r = 3h/4 = 3*8/4 = 6 cm.

(Slant height)2=82+62=64+36=100
slant height = 10 cm
