Question

The Range of the Gravitational force is infinite, then what is the concept of the gravitational field?

Solution

The gravitational force is inversely proportional to the square of the distance. So, it will only become when the distance is infinite.

Now, gravitational field is defined as the gravitational influence exerted by a body due to fact that it possess some mass (say m). This influence is exerted on every body in its vicinity such that it causes an attractive force which is reciprocated. The strength of the gravitational field is determined by the mass of the body causing it and the distance from the body.
