refractive index of turpentine oil with respect to alcohol

= (refractive index of turpentine oil)/(refractive index of alcohol)

=1.47/1.36 = 1.08

Since refractive index of alcohol is less than refractive index of turpentine oil so, light will travel faster in the alcohol.
