Solution

According to Boyel's Law : At constant temperature, the product of pressure and volume of a fixed amount of a gas is constant.
Or,
P 1 V 1 = P 2 V 2...........(1)
Given that ,
P1 = 8 atm
V1 = 7.6 dm3
P2 = 20 % of 8 atm + 8 atm
 = 1.6 atm + 8 atm
 = 9.6 atm
V2 = ?
According to eq (1) ...V2 = P 1 V 1 / P 2
= 8 atm x 7.6 dm3 / 9.6 atm
 = 6.3 dm3
