Solution
A magnet has two poles. These two poles are named as North and South. This naming convention is based on the fact that when hanged freely, North pole always points toward North and South always towards South of the Earth.
We can find the poles by bringing one pole of this magnet near the north pole of the another magnet . If the magnets repel then it means it is the north pole and the other is the south pole and if it attracts then it will be south pole and the other is the north pole.
