Though Africa is a large continent in comparison to Europe , but Europe has a longer coastline than Africa .Why ?

1) The coastline of Europe is highly indented. This irregular and indented coastline provides ideal location for natural harbours and ports.
2) The absence of deep indentations of the shore in Africa ensures fewer harbours and hence Europe has a longer coastline than Africa.
