Tin and lead have four electrons in their valence shells. Metals have 1, 2 or 3 electrons in their valence shells. So, what's the reason of tin and lead metals having more than three electrons in their valence shell?

Metals have tendency to loose electrons.Tin and lead with 4 electrons in their valence shell act as metal. Due to the larger size , low ionization energy and low electronegativity they loose their electrons easily.
