Topic-Scattering of Light

Q. The sky appears blue as the blue colour of the white light from the sun is scattered the most. So, it means we see the sky as blue because only the blue colour gets scattered. Now, danger signals are painted red which scatters the least. If red scatters the least, how can we see the red colour and if we cannot see the red color, how can we see the signal?

Solution

Red color scatters the least, this is why red light travels in a straight line and can be seen from a distance. This is true for the sun as well. The blue part of the spectrum is scattered and the red, yellow orange part makes the sun appear yellowish.
