Time take by red car
We know
Distance = Speed $\times$ Time
Time = 45 minutes = $\frac{45}{60}$ = $\frac{3}{4}$ hr
Distance covered in $\frac{3}{4}$ hr = 350 $\times$ $\frac{3}{4}$ = 262.5 km
Remaining distance = 500 - 262.5 = 237.5 km
Time taken by red car to cover 237.5 km = $\frac{237.5}{275}$ = 0.8636 hr
Total time taken by red car = 0.8636 + 0.75 = 1.6136 hr

And
Time taken by Blue car
Time = 45 minutes = $\frac{45}{60}$ = $\frac{3}{4}$ hr
Distance covered in $\frac{3}{4}$ hr = 325 $\times$ $\frac{3}{4}$ = 243.75 km
Remaining distance = 500 - 243.75 = 256.25 km
Time taken by red car to cover 256.25 km = $\frac{256.25}{350}$ = 0.73214 hr
Total time taken by red car = 0.73214 + 0.75 = 1.48214 hr
