two liquids x and y boil at 110 degree celsius and 130 degree celsius respectively which one has higher vapour pressure at 50 degree celsius?
The boiling point is the temperature at which vapour pressure becomes equal to atmospheric pressure. Secondly boiling point and vapour pressure are opposite to each other i.e inversely related (if one increases then second decreases)
Considering the first facts liquid x at 110 oC reaches to the temperature of 50oC before Y as its intial temprature is 130 oC. Thus one can conclude that tendency to vaporise is more for X because its boiling point is low. So, large amount of vapour will arise over surface at low temperature for x than y
