b)they will experience unequal upthrust.

As the force acting on the two objects in air was only their weights in the downward direction. When they are immersed in water the upward buoyant force due to water also act on them. This upward thrust is dependent on the amount of water displaced by the objects. More is the volume more is water displaced. So, the upward thrust is different for different volume. Which implies the weights will no more be balanced within water. The apparent weight of the objects will be different when immersed in water.
