Question

Two points are located at a distance of 10 m and 15 m from the source of oscillation. The period of oscillation is 0.05 sec and the velocity of the wave is 300m/s. What is the phase difference between the oscillation of the two points?

Solution

v = 300 m/stime taken to travel the distance 15 m is =15/300 = 0.05 stime taken to travel the distance 10 m is = 10/300 = 0.03 stime period of the wave is 0.05 s.angle traced in 0.05 s is 2π.angle traced in 0.03 s is 2π0.050.03 = 6π5phase difference is 2π-6π5 = 4π5
