Solution

A concave mirror focuses sunlight at it 's focus. This principle is used to convert solar energy into heat. The heat generated can be used to cook food,or to boil water to generate steam which can be used to generate electricity.

Concave mirror are used in torches and car headlights to reflect the light of the bulb to form a powerful beam of light.

They are also used in telescope to view stars and planets.Concave mirrors show a magnified image so the of the stars then is magnified in the telescope.

A dentist uses a concave mirror to see a magnified image of the teeth.

Some uses of convex lens:

1. In spectacles for eyes suffering from hypermetropia

2. In the lens combination of camera, telescope, microscope

3. It is also used as a magnifying lens etc.

When the light ray after reflection (or refraction) through mirror(or lens) meet at a single point. This phenomena is called converging and the mirror/lens is called converging mirror/lens. eg. Convex lens/concave mirrors

While

When parallel light rays fall on the surface of convex mirror then after reflection those rays seem to meet (diverge) at a single point but actually they do not meet. So, it is called diverging mirror.
