HOWdo pesticides and insecticides reach the water bodies to pollute them?
Farmers use pesticides and insecticides to protect their crops from attack of pest and insects.
These pesticides remain on the leaves of crop and in soil. During rains, they get leached away by rain water making their way into water bodies like rivers and lakes. Also the excess water used for irrigation drains into nearby water body carrying pesticides and insecticides along with it. These pesticides and insecticides pollute the water body they enter and effect the aquatic life.
