Whenever there is a short circuit in the electrical appliance such that the the metallic body of the appliance is exposed to the internal circuitry, a person will get en electric shock.
This can happen due to the following reason:
1. The metal body of the appliance is not connected to the earthing.
2. The appliance is wet.
A fuse will prevent an appliance from getting damaged due to high current. A person can get an electric shock even when the fuse is connected to the household circuitry.
