PV diagram is a straight passing through the origin.
Hence, PV
PV1= constant
Comparing the above equation with PVx= constant
we get, x=1

Molar specific heat capacity of a gas during a polytropic process is given by
C=Rγ1+R1x
Given gas is diatomic in nature, thus the value of adiabatic exponent γ=1.4
From the given data we get, C=R1.41+R1+1
