Question

What are hydronium and halide ions?

Open in App
Solution

When a proton is added to water molecule we get hydronium ion H3O+. And halide ions are formed by addition on electron to halogen atom, X- ( where X is a halogen atom F,Cl, Br, I). Both hydronium and halides are ions, one is positively charged and the other is negatively charged.
