Solution

Dear Student,

The word organic stands for something related to the living world.

So, the compounds obtained from living organisms are called organic compounds while inorganic compounds are considered to be not of biological but of mineral origin. The organic compounds are studied under a separate branch of chemistry known as organic chemistry. All organic compounds must have elements carbon and hydrogen.

Along with carbon and hydrogen, organic compounds can also have elements nitrogen, oxygen, halogens, sulphur, phosphorus etc.

Hope this answers your question,

Cheers!!
